Anthony "Tony" Tuscano, 99, passed away on April 5, 2025. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Tony brought laughter and warmth to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Born on February 16, 1926, in Chicago, Illinois, Tony was the son of Philamena and Joseph Tuscano. He went on to live a remarkable life, defined by love, service, and adventure.
On November 26, 1966, he married the love of his life, Arlene. They were best friends and partners, sharing nearly six decades of love, laughter, and devotion. Tony adored Arlene deeply, and their love inspired all who knew them.
Tony was the proud father of Michael Tuscano and cherished grandfather to Antoinette Tuscano. He was a fond brother-in-law to Carolyn Kein and a beloved uncle to Jeffrey Kein.
A dedicated employee of Illinois Bell, Tony worked for 35 years before enjoying a well-earned retirement filled with travel and hobbies. He explored the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Europe, and he always came back with stories about the food he ate and the adventures he had, but first, it was about the food. You could mention anywhere you lived and he would tell you about the best places to eat.
Tony was a man of many interests, with a passion for fishing, scuba diving, boating, snowmobiling, and restoring vintage Corvettes. His pride and joy was a restored 1965 Corvette coupe that won awards.
A proud veteran, Tony served in the Army Air Force 13th Airborne Squadron during World War II from 1944-46, stationed in the Asia-Pacific theater, including Iwo Jima. He was awarded two Bronze Battle Star Medals, a WWII Victory Medal, and a Good Conduct Medal for his honorable service.
Tony had a huge heart and touched the lives of many with his humor, warmth, and kindness. He loved people and made lasting connections everywhere he went. He will be remembered not only for his stories and laughter but for the generosity and light he shared so freely with others. He was always ready to offer his help to anyone.
