Alice Marie Johnson, age 96, of Mount Prospect, IL, passed away on November 16, 2025. She was born May 30, 1929 in Berwyn, IL to her loving parents, George and Blanche (née Loukota) Tauchen.

A truly caring soul with a sharp wit and an infectious sense of humor, Alice had a remarkable gift for making others feel welcome and seen. She loved to share stories from her younger days, weaving tales that brought smiles, laughter, and sometimes even a few tears to those around her. Her memory was nothing short of astounding—up until her final days, she could recall details and moments with a clarity that amazed family and friends alike.

Alice had a deep love for cooking and gardening, always experimenting with new recipes and taking joy in nurturing both plants and people. Her kitchen was a place of comfort and creativity, where she brought people together over lovingly prepared meals.

A lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs and Bears, Alice relished in talking sports and never missed a chance to cheer on her teams. Her enthusiasm was contagious, and she could hold her own in any sports conversation with passion and pride.

Alice touched the lives of many—friends, family, neighbors, and even strangers she happened to cross paths with. Her warmth, humor, and generous spirit will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who had the honor of knowing her.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Wayne Johnson. She is survived by her children, Daniel (Lynda) Young, Lisa (Reeta) Young, and Lynn (Chris) Roder; sister, Barbara Blei; grandchildren, Keith (Jim) Young, Katie (Kansas) Coppinger, Christian Roder, and Gabrielle Roder; nephew, Christopher (Nia) Blei; and niece, Bridget (Bob) Buff.

Interment will be private.
