Alfred Robert French, Jr.

Alfred R. French, age 95, of Crystal Lake, IL,, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2021.

Alfred was born January 6, 1926 in Newark, NJ. He served in the Army during WWII and afterward, graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, with a Chemistry degree.

Alfred married Margaret and they raised 2 children in Crystal Lake. He worked as an Analytical Chemist at Morton Salt in Woodstock, IL. The last 18 years of his career he worked at Chemplex Company in Rolling Meadows, IL. Upon retirement, Alfred and Margaret moved to Sun City in Las Vegas, NV, to enjoy the warm weather and sunny days. In his retirement, Alfred loved following the stock market, watching old classic movies, and taking long walks every day.

Alfred is survived by his sister Shirley (Robert) Hinkle, his sons Mark (Anne) French and Scott (Debbie) French, and his grandchildren Matthew, Lauren, Julia, John, and Christopher. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Eugene French and Ray French, and wife Margaret French.

Visitation will be held at Kahle Moore funeral home, 403 Silver Lake Rd., Cary, IL 60013 from 9-11am on Saturday December 11, 2021 with a memorial service at 11am. This will be followed by interment at Windridge Memorial Park where military honors will be accorded.
