Agness Barnett Noble passed away July 24, 2023 at the age of 99. Agnes was born in Fargo, ND on March 19, 1924 to Obadiah and Harriett Lawton.
After Agnes graduated Nursing school she came to Chicago where she met the love of her life William Barnett. They were married September 27, 1i947. They went on to have five children. Agness was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William, her second husband Richard Noble and her daughter-in-law Barbara Barnett as well as many other family members. Agness is survived by her sister Jean Trottier, all of her children, Robert Barnett, Ann (Alexa (Barry), William Barnett IV (Lauryl), Mary Hirsh (Dean) and Jean Kandler (Robert as well as 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Agness’s large family was a source of great pride for her. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and GG as she was known by her great grandchildren. Agness lived life to the fullest; her smile was infectious. She enjoyed gardening, playing bridge and cribbage. She also enjoyed traveling and spent many winters in South Padre Island, TX. Agness was an excellent cook and a master seamstress. She was a devout Catholic and served as a Lay Eucharistic Minister at church services.
A Mass will be offered in her honor at St. Peter & Paul Church, Cary on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 with visitation beginning at 9:30 AM and concluding with the Mass at 10:30 AM. Services at the cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Agness’s name to a charity of your choice.
