Mitzi L. Peterson

Mitzi L. Peterson, age 73, of Cary, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2019, surrounded by her family at JourneyCare in Barrington IL, after a battle with cancer. Mitzi is survived by her son Erik (Connie) Peterson, daughter Lisa Peterson, granddaughter Sylvia Peterson, and great granddaughter Trinity Peters. She is also survived by sister Nan (Roger) Whipple, Pam (Ken) Bruhn, and Becky (Andrew) Monak, and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband Brian Peterson, parents Dorothy and Lester Zimmerman, brother Gary, and sister-in-law Kathy Zimmerman, and mother-in-law Sylvia Peterson.Mitzi was employed thru Organic Life Kitchen's within the Cary School district prior to that she was employed at Central States in Cary. Mitzi was extremely dedicated to her daughter Lisa, and all her activities thru the Pioneer Center in McHenry. She was a very caring person and had a heart of gold. This was shown thru her helping others around her. Mitzi was very proud of the care her sisters, son, and daughter-in-law showed her. She was also proud of her granddaughter who was taking care of her in the end.A celebration of life will be held this spring. Please contact the family for arrangements.
