James Conrad Tichy

James Conrad Tichy, 64 died peacefully at home after a long struggle with end stage renal failure on Tuesday May 16, 2017 in Cary, Illinois. He was born on January 5, 1953 in Chicago Illinois. He is preceded in death by his daughter Brittany Sarah and his parents Margaret and Melvin Tichy. Jim graduated from the University of Illinois at Urban - Champaign with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education. He went on to teach and coach in Tonica Illinois before moving to Cary Illinois. He spent 30 years teaching and coaching at Huntley High School before retiring in 2010. He enjoyed coaching his children and ran a successful JAST volleyball club for many years. Jim is survived by his wife of 38 years, Theresa (nee Lenihan), his daughter Kristin, daughter Heather (Jason) Geils, and his son Kyle and his granddaughter Evelyn Geils and brother Robert (Sue) Tichy, niece Brina (Michael) Jaynes (Keegan is their son) and nephew Bob (Joni) Tichy . Beloved uncle, cousin and friend to many. Visitation will be Saturday from 11-2 pm at Kahle Moore Funeral Home 403 Silver Lake Rd, Cary, IL 60013. Interment will be privately held. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the American Diabetes Association or for Jim's special needs child Kristin Tichy.
