Alex G. Kube

Alex Glen Kube, age 29 of Rockford, IL passed away February 8th, 2017 at MercyHealth Hospital surrounded by family.He was born October 31st, 1987 in Phoenix, Arizona. Alex was a 2006 graduate of Cary Grove High School. He earned a football scholarship to Northern Illinois University. Following college, his hard work earned him atryout with the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings. After football, he took a love to coaching and teaching young people of all ages. He was owner of Elite 7, a coach for the Rockford East football team, and teacher at Lincoln Middle School. The impact he left on so many will forever be his legacy.Alex is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth (Starliper) Kube; parents Lorna Kube and Tim Walker of McHenry; brothers Blake Kube of Cary, IL and Spencer Kube, currently in the US Marines and stationed in Japan; stepbrothers Colin and Devin Walker of Lake In the Hills, IL; mother and father in law Terry and Lisa Starliper of Freeport, IL; and grandparents Glen Ankcorn of Cary, IL; Willie and Ozella Hardwick of Maple Heights, OH; Connie Walker of Springfield, IL; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Preceded in death are his grandmother Marilyn Ankcorn, grandfather Jerry Walker, and aunt Lisa Rehling.Visitation will be held on Friday February 17th at Alpine Chapel Church, 23153 W. Miller Road Lake Zurich, IL 60047 from 4pm-8pm. A private service for close friends and family will be held on Saturday February 18th at Kahle-Moore Funeral Home, 403 Silver Lake Road, Cary, IL 60013.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a scholarship fund set up in Alex Kube's name for under- privileged athletes.
