Robert Edwin Destree

       Robert E. Destree, age 91 of Cary passed away July 29, 2019 at JourneyCare Hospice in Barrington.  He was born January 24, 1928 in Chicago, the son of Edwin and Hazel Gumz.

       Bob is survived by his children:  Susan (David) Ling, Kenneth Destree, Wayne (Cindy) Destree and Catherine (George) Livas, his grandchildren:  Elizabeth, David, Marianne Maribeth ,Catherine, Margaret, Randall, Robert (Mallory) Destree, Brittany (Brandon) Dek, Angela (Richard) Ramirez, Kimberly (Antonio) Livas, Matthew (Christine) Livas, Lori and Bryan, his great grandchildren:  Abel, Leo, Evangeline and Christopher.  He is preceded in death by his wife Betty Destree.

       Bob served in the Navy during the Korean War; he was a member of the M’s & M’s club.  He loved music and enjoyed woodworking but family was always the most important thing to him.

        Services for Bob will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 11:00 AM at The First Congregational Church, 461 Pierson St., Crystal Lake, IL, and memorials in Bob’s memory would be appreciated to JourneyCare Hospice, 405 Lake Zurich Rd., Barrington, IL 60010.
