March 22, 1945 ~ January 24, 2018 (age 72) 72 Years Old

Lauralee Mora Obituary

• The Angels carried Lauralee Mora from this world on January 23rd from her home in Cary, IL where she fought her final stand with cervical cancer. (Note that an annual Pap smear might have caught Mom's cancer in time for it to be treated. Please insist on getting one with every annual examination, especially later in life!) Born on March 22, 1945 to Esther and Alfred Motz, she graduated from Maine West in Des Plaines, IL, and was crowned the Donut Queen for her beauty and poise. She married Joseph Mora in September 1964 (he never understood why). They moved to Cary, IL in 1973 where she lived for the remainder of her life (she never understood why). She worked at various local companies, such as Gizmos, Sun Electric, and finally at General Electric in Barrington, where she worked for 25 years until her retirement in 2000. (She didn't understand that last one at all...ever.) She is preceded in death by both of her parents and her older brother Alan. She is survived by her husband, her children Christopher "CJ" (husband to Teri) and Angeliec (wife of Everett), grandchildren (Jessica, Logan, and Christina), sisters (Sonya and Sharon), and hundreds of friends and family members who will cherish her memory. It is with a loving heart that she nurtured so many things, including gardens, friendships, and relationships. Do not feel sorrow at her passing, because that is not what she would have wanted. Celebrate the vitality she showed in her youth, the love she showered on those around her, and the strength she had to fight for so long, until all her works were done. Although she was not religious, she was deeply spiritual and believed there are Angels all around us, watching and protecting us from everyday evils. We rejoice that she has been called to their ranks, for they now can share in her radiance. The family will share her memory and celebrate her life at the Kahle-Moore Funeral Home (403 Silver Lake Rd, Cary IL) from 2-6 pm on Saturday February 3rd, with services 6-7 pm. In lieu of sending flowers, she would have preferred if those inclined could make a charitable donation to the Kraus Senior Center (in Cary, IL), which offers social activities for those advanced in years but still young at heart.
