Dorothy L. Charvat

Dorothy L. Charvat of Cary, IL. passed away on July 18, 2016 in Elgin, IL. She was born to Mary (Synek) Roth and Rudolph Roth on May 28, 1920. Dorothy attended elementary school at 441 W. Main St. in Cary and graduated from Crystal Lake Community High School in 1938. After high school, Dorothy worked at Suburban Electric in Cary for 31 years. She was also a Girl Scout leader and belonged to the Women's Society of Christian Services at Cary United Methodist Church. Dorothy married Frank J. Charvat of Algonquin, IL on March 31, 1951. After moving to Dundee for five years they returned to Cary in 1956 and built a home on Krenz Avenue where they lived among good neighbors until 2004. Dorothy was preceded in death her husband and parents, her sisters, Blanche Bryant of Crystal Lake and Mary Curtis of Cary and Chicago: four brothers-in-law one sister-in-law and one niece. Dorothy is survived by her nieces Judie Bradford of Glenview, IL. and Melitta Doetsch of Bloomingdale, IL. and several good friends. Services will be private with burial at Algonquin Cemetery.
