David Roche, age 88, of Cary passed away November 19, 2014 surrounded by family. David was born December 3, 1925 to Norbert J. Roche and Kathryn Hart. He lived most of his life in Cary, IL. As a WWII Navy veteran he spent the last few years at the Green House Building 201 at the Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center in North Chicago where he made many friends with staff and residents. He is survived by three children: Deb (Thomas) Shields, Kathy (Eric) Roche-Wallace, and Dave (Kim) Roche, his 10 grandchildren Matt, Lena, Kristen, Michael, Melissa, Ben, Justin, Nate, Kelly and Cameron. His five gr. grandchildren Kennedy, Aubrey, Miles, Althea and William, his sisters Kathleen (the late Vincent) Sloma, Aurelio Roche as well as three nieces Kathryn, Pamela and Theresa. The family would like to especially like to thank the staff of the ICU at the Great Lakes Naval Hospital who treated him with dignity, respect and love during this valiant fight. To all his friends and "pumpkins" with a little grin and twinkle in his eye he would want you to "Have a lousy day." Memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, December 7, 2014 from 2:00 until 6:00 PM at the Kahle-Moore funeral Home, 403 Silver Lake Rd., Cary. In lieu of flowers David's request was to help our Veterans through donations to Wounded Warriors, Honor Flight of McHenry County or local charities.
